We cannot change who we are and we shouldn’t want to!

So there’s been something rambling around in my mind lately that I think I should share. I thought it would be the perfect entrance/apology from my long break from posts, though I’m not sure who really reads my blog ha ha. Anywho, the thing I want to address today is this: I am me for a reason! You are you for a reason! We cannot change who we are and we shouldn’t want to!

Lately, I’ve been struggling with this because there is someone I know who just seems to do everything better than I do. I try hard at eating healthy, she does it better. I run fast, she runs faster. I try to be committed and then fail, she’s committed and succeeds. You get the picture. Well, I have had it up to here (my hand’s about a foot above my forehead right now) with the idea that I’m not good enough because someone else is better at a few things. SO WHAT???

The fact is that we are all good at some things and bad at others. That doesn’t mean that we should give up on the things that we are struggling with. In fact, because we struggle, we can become strong enough to make that struggle a triumph. All you need to succeed is to give that little try a whole lot of umph!
I’ll let you in on a little secret: I’ve lost 35 pounds since my weight loss journey began. I’ve lost several inches from places I didn’t even know I could lose inches from. The secret is that even when I lost that weight, I still doubted myself and had mornings where I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. I had days where I didn’t want to keep going because the weight wasn’t coming off fast enough. What does that tell me? That losing weight means nothing unless love of self has prevailed all along.

So, love it 2 lose groupies, I dare you to forget about weight loss, to forget about food and dieting (which by the way you shouldn’t be doing any way-diets are bad, eating  things in moderation is enough) and just enjoy being where you are! If you have lost weight, if you’re losing weight, if you dream of losing weight-wherever you are, just stop and enjoy the moment. Today will pass and too soon tomorrow will be here. Wouldn’t we all be a little happier if we stayed in the moment instead of wishing another moment would come? Love your self. WANT to BE yourself. Just enjoy the thing that no one else in the world will ever be able to experience; enjoy being you.
